Welcome to today's open thread, where r/nfl users can discuss anything they wish not related directly to the NFL.
Want to talk about personal life? Cool things about your fandom? Whatever happens to be dominating today's news cycle? Do you have something to talk about that didn't warrant its own thread? This is the place for it!
Remember, that there are other subreddits that may be a good fit for what you want to post - every day all day!

wow. look. the game in paris looks like it's all going ahead without any issues at all, and the stadium isn't in flames or anything.
scare stories about cities are often very different to what's actually happening in the vast majority of them. exhibit 70 billion.

My MIL just got back from France. They saw some shit but it was all very concentrated to certain areas. She is from Detroit though so her standards for bullshit are very high.

sounds like she has a functioning "what actually normally happens in big cities" meter

I visited Morocco last year after a series of riots were just tapering off, and honestly, in Casablanca you couldn't tell.

I was at Portland, last year, when supposedly the city was being burnt down. Had a nice lunch at Deschutes and then went up and down the river in a boat with my wife after. Meanwhile her mom was freaking out about us being in a city full of liberals burning stores down...

There are so many good cheeses to choose from, but given the choice I would always choose cheddar.

there's some really bad cheddar though. rubbery and tasteless.

I’m going with a stinky French cheese like eppoises or the gooey salty italian cheese talleggio. Or if it’s melted in a sandwich, raclette. But I’m a cheese snob. If we’re are talking normal cheeses you can get the the deli in the grocery store, I like a sliced havarti, Muenster, and straight up American cheese.

Muenster is some good shit!

colby jack, but from this amazing store in Chicago. otherwise this guy brought a cheese platter to a luncheon and there was brie with this little stripe of truffle. And this goat'smilk cheese directly from a farm somewhere near chartres.

Havarti is such an under appreciated sandwich cheese.

Fuck yea to raclette.

Too many great ones to have a single favorite. This thread makes me want to put together a cheese board for game watching today. I think I shall.

Ever had smoked cheddar? It's a game changer.
