1) Stop Jonathan Taylor - Taylor is one of the NFL’s best running backs, and beyond him, the Colts’ offense really doesn’t have a whole lot going for it. Daniel Jones has been struggling mightily this season, and star tight end Tyler Warren is on the sideline with an injury in this one. That means the Vikings’ defense will almost certainly be loading up to stop Taylor from doing major damage, and if they can do that, they should be able to turn it into a long, miserable afternoon for the rest of the Colts’ offense.

2) Balance things on offense - Jordan Mason is back for the Vikings in the backfield, and the team is also welcoming back Christian Darrisaw, T.J. Hockenson, and Jordan Addison. This is as close to full strength as the Vikings’ offense has been since Week 1, and the Colts’ defense has been having plenty of issues as well. They’ll be without star cornerback Sauce Gardner, so there should be openings in the secondary, and if the Vikings can take advantage there, the run game will likely open up as well.

3) Continue winning on special teams - On paper, the Vikings are the better team in this football game, but special teams are where teams can, potentially, make up those differences. The Vikings’ special teams have been outstanding this year, and they need to continue showing up at that level in this one so that the Colts don’t get any unnecessary advantages that they can capitalize on. If the Colts have to put together long, sustained drives, they’re going to have a lot of trouble putting points on the board, and winning on special teams will force them to do just that.
