Just like that, we're gearing up for Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season. How time flies.
Unfortunately, Week 6 wasn't without its bumps and bruises. Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin was carted off with what turned out to be a season-ending knee injury on Monday night, while 49ers Pro Bowl wideout Mike Evans exited with Achilles soreness.
Monday morning also brought some unexpected news, as the Colts announced they fired GM Chris Ballard, who's been in the role since 2017. Indianapolis fell to the Titans on Sunday .
Also on Monday morning, the Philadelphia Eagles and NFL agent Nicole Lynn released a joint statement on the status of Jalen Hurts, clarifying his diagnosis and treatment plan. He will reportedly be out for the season as he undergoes treatment with blood thinners after a diagnosis of a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and blood clots in his lungs. While the NFL has staunchly defended the team's handling of Hurts' medical care in the aftermath, the NFLPA is calling for a full investigation by the league .

The Chicago Bears and New England Patriots released their final injury reports ahead of the teams' Week 7 "Thursday Night Football" showdown.
The Bears will be without RB Kyle Monangai for the third straight game. He's still nursing thumb and toe injuries. Chicago linebacker T.J. Edwards is "doubtful" with a hamstring injury that kept him out last week in Atlanta.
As for the Patriots, they'll be down left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker and cornerback Carlton Davis III, who are dealing with hamstring and neck injuries, respectively.
Lamar Jackson didn't practice or play each of the past two weeks due to a left ankle injury he suffered during a Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans.
He was limited in Wednesday's practice, according to head coach Jesse Minter, who told reporters that Jackson's involvement included some team work .
"Again, it's a day-by-day thing," Minter said. "But he was able to get a little bit of work in and be involved in the preparation."
The Ravens are gearing up for a Sunday game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Tyler "Snoop" Huntley has started in Jackson's place, leading Baltimore to a 1-1 record in the process.
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles told reporters that quarterback Baker Mayfield was "effective" and "encouraging."
Mayfield is still coming back from the dislocated thumb that he suffered earlier this season. Bowles said that the quarterback wore a glove on his right hand and "felt comfortable."
Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice won't practice Wednesday as he continues rehabbing a hamstring injury, head coach Andy Reid says, per beat writer Matt Derrick , though he is making progress toward a return.
Right tackle Jaylon Moore also won't practice after suffering a concussion against the Chargers in Week 6. Josh Ezeudu played in his place to close out the game and will presumably get reps in his spot, with Reid praising his performance .
On the left side of the offensive line, OT Josh Simmons continues to ramp up his participation in his return from a bulging disc in his back this week.
New York Jets running back Breece Hall won't return to practice on Wednesday, per head coach Aaron Glenn, via The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt .
Hall has been out since suffering a groin injury in Week 3, and the fact that he won't be returning to practice to start the week isn't an encouraging sign for his availability in Week 7, though per Al Iannazzone, Glenn declined to rule him out this early in the week. Hall wasn't placed on injured reserve with the injury, which would have required a four-game absence.
Backup Braelon Allen has played well in his absence, with 220 scrimmage yards and a score over the past two weeks, averaging just over 4.7 yards per carry in that span. Glenn reiterated that Hall remains their starter upon his return, but that Allen will continue to get touches.
Jackson has been a non-participant at practice since injury his left ankle in Week 4.
Tyler Huntley has started the past two games -- a win over the Falcons and a loss to the Browns. He would get the Week 7 start against the Bengals should Jackson be ruled out yet again.
Judkins sat out last week after suffering an ankle injury in Week 5.
Sampson suffered a knee injury in Week 1 and was placed on injured reserve. The Browns opened his 21-day practice window last Wednesday.
Terrell has been on injured reserve since suffering a groin injury in Week 2.
As he returns to practice , the team has 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster or shut him down for the season.
The 28-year-old Terrell is in his seventh NFL season, all with the Falcons. He has 6 career interceptions and 387 total tackles, including 14 for loss in 95 career games.
The Cowboys are 2-4 an the trade deadline is a little over three weeks away. As he says every year, Jones insisted that if something is out there that would help his team, he would pursue it. As of now, he does not see them selling off assets unless something major comes across the table.
While the NFL has defended how the Eagles handled Hurts' blood clots, the NFLPA has demanded more transparency .
"The NFLPA is not aware of any NFL investigations into the medical care provided to Jalen Hurts," the union said in a statement. "In fact, the league previously informed the union that it did not plan to review the care he received.
"Before conclusions are drawn about how this situation was handled, there must be a full investigation into what occurred. Determining the facts is essential to ensuring players receive the highest level of care and protection going forward."
Speaking to the media during this week's owners' meetings, Goodell said its the union's right to investigate the situation.
The New York Giants like what they've seen from quarterback J.J. McCarthy over the past month. Despite trading for the former first-round pick less than a month ago, the Giants will reportedly start McCarthy against the Houston Texans in Week 7, per ESPN.
The move comes after McCarthy came on in relief of Jameis Winston in Week 6.
McCarthy was solid in that appearance, nearly leading the Giants back against the New Orleans Saints in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 243 passing yards, with a touchdown and an interception.
The New Orleans Saints will have to wait at least another week for the debut of first-round rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, who's been on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, per Locked On's Ross Jackson .
He originally suffered the injury mid-August and was projected to miss around two months at the time — a timeline that would have him theoretically close to a return to action, if he remains on track.
The Rams have officially added wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive tackle Poona Ford to injured reserve.
Adams had surgery on his hamstring injury and is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks, despite IR requiring him to sit out only the next four games.
The long-awaited return of Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell is right around the corner. But in order to activate Dell, the Texans had to create space for him on the 53-man roster.
As a result, they are waiving linebacker Jamal Hill, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston .
This season, Hill had continued his role as a special teamer and defensive reserve for Houston. In five games, he recorded four total tackles, including two solos.
While it appears as though rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels will once again get the nod for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, the team isn't closing the door on a potential Week 7 Baker Mayfield return just yet.
Greg Auman of Fox Sports reported Tuesday that the Bucs have pushed their weekly QB news conference from Wednesday to Thursday.
That's somewhat noteworthy as they continue to evaluate Baker Mayfield's recovery from the thumb injury that's sidelined him since Week 3 .
On Sunday, Tampa Bay will take on the Carolina Panthers on the road.
Philadelphia is shaking up its running back depth.
The Eagles have signed Elijah Mitchell to the practice squad. In corresponding moves, Philly has also waived Jaydon Blue and waived-injured Carson Steele.
Currently, only Saquon Barkley, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, and Dameon Pierce are active running backs on the 53-man roster.
The Rams have signed a new kicker, bringing in veteran Brandon McManus.
A week ago, Los Angeles cut Harrison Mevis after a poor kicking performance and signed Blake Grupe. The replacement kicker made a field goal last weekend, but then tore his ACL making a tackle on a kick off in the first quarter.
McManus has been in the league since 2014, and spent last season with the Packers. He was 24-of-30 on field goals, making only 6 of 12 attempts from 40 yards and beyond.
If you're tired of international games, you're out of luck.
NFL EVP Peter O'Reilly told reporters at league meetings on Tuesday that the league is considering adding a 10th international game next season, the maximum allowed by the current CBA.
O'Reilly did not mention whether the NFL would be playing in any new cities or countries, but reiterated a past sentiment that the league has a high interest in a game taking place in Asia.
Tyler Loop drilled an iconic game-winner earlier this season in Brazil , but his job isn't safe in Baltimore.
Loop faced scrutiny over the weekend after he missed a 49-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter of a three-point road loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Loop, who infamously pushed a potential game-winning 44-yard FG wide right in what was an AFC North title game last season, is 10 of 13 on field-goal attempts this season.
And for the second time this season, the Ravens have brought in Jake Moody to provide some competition. On Tuesday, Baltimore once again signed Moody to its practice squad.
The San Francisco 49ers drafted Moody in the third round back in 2023. He's converted 64-of-82 field-goal attempts and 107-of-110 PATs throughout his career. Moody ended last season with the Washington Commanders but lost a training camp battle with rookie Drew Stevens for the kicking job.
NFL EVP Peter O'Reilly told reporters at league meetings that this weekend's matchup between the Steelers and Saints in Paris is still on as scheduled.
Paris has had protests and riots, but O'Reilly said, "We're confident in our operational and security plans…being very vigilant in everything we do and all of our planning."
