Welcome to today's open thread, where /r/nfl users can discuss anything they wish not related directly to the NFL.
Want to talk about personal life? Cool things about your fandom? Whatever happens to be dominating today's news cycle? Do you have something to talk about that didn't warrant its own thread? This is the place for it!
Remember, that there are other subreddits that may be a good fit for what you want to post - every day all day!

Wishing you the best - that sounds terrifying but here’s hoping all of the claustrophobia will be worth it to move onto a better and healthier life going forward.

Sorry you're going through this JP, and hope you're able to get through it ok.
I'll check with my wife, an oncology nurse, if she knows how people deal with radiation and claustrophobia.

Good luck JP!
My aunt went thru radiation and had the same claustrophobia issue. It sucked but she knew she had to get thru it. Just look on the bright side and be positive! Maybe that helps you thru it. I know that’s easier said than done. But we believe in you JP! You got this!

You got this JP!
For the radiation mask, just watch Die Another Day and pretend you're becoming a Bond villain, the Rule of Cool should cancel out the claustrophobia

One of my biggest annoyances of the past couple years is how the US's global reputation has fallen so hard that they act like all Americans are crazy Trump weirdos. There are a lot of them, yes, but there are a lot of people who aren't. So whenever I make a critical comment about the state of the country and someone responds with "well, you voted for this!" I get more aggravated than I probably should, since I did not, in fact, vote for this. I agree with you! why ya gotta use the word you to target me?

You gotta remember you're arguing with their crazies when you're doing that. I went abroad recently and everyone in person was really nice. A couple wanted to chat politics, but it wasn't like oh my God you're evil it was more just curious like "do you think people are waking up to this / how many people over there are actually supporting this etc"
But online you're just gonna get the loonies and frankly a lot of bad faith actors deliberately stirring shit. I saw a lot of this during the world cup and I clicked one account and saw their history was literally just 800 posts bashing america (specifically blaming every individual American) and it's like ok yea we kinda suck but this is clearly not a normal individual, its either someone terminally online or like a Russian / Chinese bot

Every time I've been to a foreign country everyone's been really nice. Only time the locals have been kinda rude around me was when we ended up in rural Germany and these bakers didn't understand English. They looked at me and my family like we're a buncha hopelessly lost weirdos since tourists don't go to that town in particular.
