Like all Seahawks flairs they got tired of the weekly “Kenneth Walker has [number] rushing yards this season, while all of Seattles running backs only have [smaller number]” posts

Obviously K9 has been awesome in KC, and he's a clear upgrade over our current RB situation. But this game taught me to trust that Schneider knows ball more than we do.

The two Super Bowls Bowls weren’t enough?

4. u/Kdot32 · 2026-10-26 13:28 UTC

With two different coaches

5. u/caterham09 · 2026-10-26 13:39 UTC

And 2 completely different teams

6. u/lmHavoc · 2026-10-26 13:42 UTC

Actually it was both with the Seahawks

Technically you’re correct, the best kind of correct.

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man

Well yeah. Maybe "taught" was the wrong word, more so "reinforced."

We’ve been one of the best teams this entire century. The Seahawks have rarely not been a playoff team even. When they bottom out it’s been for like 1-2 years minimum this century and hop right back into contending.

4 Super Bowls, 2 wins, consistent contender. They’ve been a great franchise.

I would expand on that, the NFC west overall has been one of the best in the NFL the last 25 yrs. Every team has been to the SB, 3 of them more than once. NFC title games has been thru NFC west many many times. NFC west has been in the SB more times than any other team, other than NE. If a team can win the NFC west, the SB is just topping on the cake.

Should’ve been 3 (4, really but who’s counting)

It's just simple numbers. Paying a RB big money is worth less than keeping multiple other players around.

He's far more valuable to the Chiefs than he was to you.

Omg someone is talking about contracts and value relative to their team and not as an absolute 🥹

I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan out there. I think they're mostly good movies, but the Revenge of the Sith conversation is so applicable.

• Anakin: "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy."

• Obi-Wan: "Only a Sith deals in absolutes. I will do what I must."

Too many people look at situations as only having binary outcomes, but there's often tons of possibilities.

Just looking at the Seahawks and Walker situation, here's a bunch of outcomes.

  • Seattle was right and Walker wasn't worth the money.
  • Seattle was right because paying other players was more important, and Walker does well with KC.
  • Seattle was right because paying other players was more important, and Walker does poorly with KC.
  • Seattle regresses a bit offensively and Walker does well. Maybe this is a neutral outcome.
  • I could go on, but you get the point.

Now, sometimes, especially with high value trades, it is easier to say a winner and a loser, but it's still not binary outcomes. I still think that the Packers made the right decision to trade for Micah, but everything has risk, and the NFL is a violent sport where injuries are commonplace.

I'm not an eternal waiter or fence sitter, however. There are trades I didn't like from the start, like Jamal Adams and Sauce. Both teams gave up too much for players that were no longer the players they were from their rookie seasons. There's too much value inequality there. I'm not even sure if winning the SB would've justified those trades.

the critical point is that Walker didn’t leave because we refused to pay him, he left because we refused to agree to give him RB1 carries instead of sharing the backfield
