I'm not saying it's the wrong call, but I am saying I better see it called again on someone else soon

You could literally call this on every single running play. The NFL has jumped the shark this year with officiating.

2026 NFL season brought to you by Draft Kings

Looking like the NBA out here. Fucking embarrassing

This isn’t the first time they have called it. It just is rarely called. It is also because Cam initiated contact with the crown of his helmet.

Since the start of the 2021 season its been called 8 times total lol

Happens multiple times every game. They either need to never call it, or call it WAY more. Stuff like this is turbo dumb.

Nah.

RBs lower their pads multiple times a game and run through.

This was a spear with the head on purpose and it's pretty obvious he's trying to make contact with his helmet.

Definitely saw Josh Jacobs called for this when he was with the Raiders

9. u/alienbringer · 2026-10-25 18:12 UTC

Zeke vs Eagles in 2018 was the first time it was ever called. So I remember the penalty well.

There is still a difference between getting your shoulder pads low as you go for a hole, vs running right at the tackle and spearing them.

Yea idk wtf everyone is talking about. You absolutely do not see players intentionally leading with the crown of their helmet into defenders “all the time”.

12. u/LinkLT3 · 2026-10-25 19:00 UTC

They’re Giants fans, they do see it all the time. From Skattebo. It’s just the first time the asshole got flagged for it.

13. u/SnarfSniffsStardust · 2026-10-25 17:52 UTC

Some players lean on it more than others and repeat offenders will eventually get called for it

Edit: it’s a health issue not an issue about a competitive advantage so they don’t feel the need to call it every time they see it. But if a player is repeatedly doing it it’s a health risk and they’ll eventually step in.

Lotta brain dead arguments in this comment thread. Must be users leading with the crown of their helmet too often

Not a big fan of Skattebo but felt like that was a call based on reputation rather than what actually happened

15. u/Sdwerd · 2026-10-25 18:11 UTC

Did you watch the clip? Like at all? His body is fuckin' horizontal crown first to initiate contact. That's how the dipshit plays, and they should keep flagging him every time until he learns to run without spearing every defender.

Don't you dare talk about Scam Kabadoo that way

17. u/windowlicker_son · 2026-10-25 17:38 UTC

I can't recall ever seeing this flag. At best it's exceptionally rare.

18. u/iwantsomecrablegsnow · 2026-10-25 17:59 UTC

It gets called once or twice a year it seems. Usually some backup trying to get more snaps for himself.

19. u/Mawx · 2026-10-25 17:37 UTC

Feels like this one is only ever enforced as a fine.

20. u/bu77munch · 2026-10-25 17:41 UTC

He got fined for it two weeks ago so I’m sure the refs are looking more for it
